Back on Bowen Island

After a night in Calgary (thanks Pete and Brita) sandwiched by two days driving (thanks Trans-Canada Hwy) we pulled into the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal approximately 2 minutes late for the ferry. But that's relatively good news because we had only missed the 8:30 ferry and had another coming at 9:30 pm. That's the one we didn't want to miss.

It was interesting to arrive. We've been on the coast for about two years and have been sensing that returning to Bowen would feel like returning home - but we did not have a strong sense of that. Having just spent four weeks visiting family and friends in places where we have twelve plus years of history (not counting our childhoods) we were surprised to discover that Bowen is still in the process of becoming home.

It was nice to get back to the house, see the cat and begin to reconnect with our Bowen friends. It will take a couple days for us to settle - unfortunately one of those will be spent on the mainland restocking the fridge and cupboards.
